Matteo Stauffacher is an EPF graduate architect, a designer and an enamel artist from Lausanne who has built himself a reputation as a design maverick.
He does not hesitate to surround himself with craft masters in order to explore new artistic techniques, such as grand feu enamel.
Bringing to life through contrast
His career has seen him take on numerous roles as an artistic director for various projects in fields such as architecture, design, music, fashion, jewellery and fine watchmaking.
It is likely that this professional variety is the reason he chose to explore the artistic theme of ‘contrast’ for this collaboration with the brand XRby.

Stauffacher’s art often depicts brutality juxtaposed with gentleness, as a reflection of the reality of life and society.
For this fourth collaboration, cloisonné enamel takes centre stage, both in the creation of the watch dial and in the decoration of the movement’s oscillating weight.
